Thank you! I came into this move very discouraged. The bins we donated being stolen had further fed my negativity about this move. I was more than wrong. It has been amazing to see everyone come together and make this happen. Most importantly people really coming out of their comfort zone, trying new things, and pushing themselves. There is still lots to be done. Not only at the old space, but to make our new home a reality. Keep pushing! I have felt an energy from the members that I have not felt since our first couple years. This space belongs to all of you, I look forward to seeing what you all choose to do with it.

Thanks for much for your heartfelt message here. I want to express my deep appreciation for all who have been working so hard to keep the place running (and for finding new space and working on the move). I have been unable, due to other involvements, to put as much time into membership here as I originally thought I could.

Aiming to be there on Saturday for sure.

Hey everyone,

I've been closely following the Kamloops Makerspace move, and it's disheartening to see the lack of action and progress in this crucial initiative from some members. The Makerspace is an incredible hub for creativity, innovation, and learning within our community, and we must ensure its smooth transition to a new location.

I have been hearing a lot of "we should/should have" from individuals not physically doing the things. There is a focus on workshops and making things while others are giving many hours of labor to move the space. A lot of concern about when people can get access to their area of interest again.

This type of behavior has led us to the position we are in. Criticism and ideas may seem helpful, however, are extremely demotivating to those doing the things we all need to do. Yes, we miss things and sometimes are not perfect communicating, we are fully aware and are more likely to quit than devote even more time communicating with people who are not sharing in the efforts. This move is an opportunity to change course. To reignite the passion that made this all possible in the beginning.

In times like these, community involvement and support are more important than ever. We need to come together and work towards finding solutions that will allow this move to happen seamlessly. The Makerspace plays a significant role in fostering creativity and providing a platform for budding artists, inventors, and enthusiasts to thrive.

Together, we can make a difference and ensure this valuable resource continues to flourish in our community.
