Laser Cutter

Some time ago Grant and I cleaned up the bearings and took note of sizes to replace them as they are getting rough. I have to double check the amounts needed but I have gotten prices for 2 of each and it comes to around $100 shipped. Someonel else is welcome to try and find a better price. All bearings are souble metal shielded. Here are the sizes and some of the part numbers I have found.

That 16x35x11 is a really weird size.

It exists, but the big online distributers I order from don't carry it. Google can find it but its going to be a lot more pricey.

The rest of the bearings are $4 to $8 US each.

So a Misumi order (that I'll probably be making anyway) would be $30 to $40 then that weird 16mm would need to come from somewhere else.

I'll wait to hear back from Motion Canada.

Actually on second thought could just get the 2 16mm bearings for $22.68 each, then tack the rest onto my next Misumi order.

12x21x5: $6.38 each Misumi Link 12x21x5

8x16x5 : $5.54 US each Misumi Link 8x16x5

Grand total of $76.

I've contacted GWeike and reached out to other online sources. Give it a few days for an answer. On Saturday we could just pull two bearings out and drive up to Lordco. They have more stuff than you would expect.

On Friday night I removed two of the bearings and tried going to Lordco. They didn't have anything that small. I'm just thinking that the bearings shouldn't be that exotic. There are three sizes of bearing to find. I suggest we skip the largest ones at the back and focus on the two smaller sizes that are easier to reach. I'm willing to remove those bearings Sunday night if someone is willing to take the bearings into Motion Canada. We need two of one size and six of the other. I can do this any evening but MC is only open during my work hours. If anyone is willing to take this on please speak up.

On a side note the X axis idler pully had enough play that one of the bearings slipped right out. I fixed that by adding two 1/4 inch washers. When we have new bearings we need to work out some issues with uneven belt wear.

I already got pricing from Motion Canada. It's conveniently written in this very thread, along with the cheap ones I said I could simply add to my next order.

Motion Canada are too expensive for anything but the 16mm bearings.

Are we sure 2 of each was the amount. I have been meaning to check. If so, go ahead and order.

I have replaced the idler pulley on the gantry. It cuts circles better now. There is a spare replacement in the tool box.
