Sawstop problems
Author Last Post

Sawstop is all good to go again! It was the cartridge cable that needed to be replaced. I'll attach the service procedure that sawstop sent here for future reference as well as put it in the google drive. The saw is still pretty loud and it sounds like the bearing will need to be replaced sooner rather than later.

I tried the new cartridge and same problem. I'm going to try to call Sawstop on Thursday. I've tried to get it give an extended error code, but it shot out multiple different ones. Will try to clean the contact of the cartridge and if that doesn't work I'll call sawstop on Thursday. Kyle, did you ever hear back from Sawstop?

Bailey has a new cardridge. Should be dropped off soon.

Follow up question. Can the saw be run in bypass mode?

Has the part been ordered?

Nicholas was here while I was in the woodshop and we took a look at it. Strangely enough we had it running and then he opened it up to just adjust because it was too loose. Once adjusted we tried to run it again and it started to immediately run down after start. It may be a faulty cartridge. Do we know who bought this last cartridge and can we get the receipt to try and exchange for another one? Seems like an easier starting place, then we can order a part if it's still not working.

If it is the same issue as in the forum post linked previously. this is the part we need

cartridge cable replacement

I havve sent out an email to Sawstop, maybe they will be generous and send us a new part for free. if not. i'll look at ordering the part

I tried to use the sawstop and it kept running down after a second or so of use. After doing some research online it seems the issue might be a tachometer problem requiring a new brake cartridge cable. At least that’s the solution from this 2011 forum post with identical symptoms
