Ridgid Palm Router Collet Nut
Author Last Post

The collet nut on the palm router has been replaced, and the router can now properly hold bits. I also have a Ridgid collet wrench, spare collet, and collet nut stored in one of the trays in the Router drawer by the shop entrance.

Aha, that would explain the orange colour scheme.

Well Home Depot does not seem to have parts, and other stores in town don't carry Ridgid. I've ordered a nut and few other small spare parts from eReplacementparts.com. It may be up to two weeks to get them, but I'll replace the nut as soon as I get the new one. There is a paper note attached to the router for now.

Rigid tools are Home Depot brand. I would start there.

Went to use the palm router yesterday, but could not secure a bit in place. The collet nut seems to have a damaged thread, and won't fasten down onto the collet far enough to lock a bit in. See attached photos, it feels like the nut hits a hard stop 1/8" above where it would normally begin tightening on the collet.

Is there a place in town that I would be able to purchase a replacement, or have to order online?
