Laser Cutter

We could probably just bypass the key. We have never used it as any kind of access control. Just as a switch.

Looks like it's all good now. When I tried the emergency shut off button, it felt like a momentary button. Didn't realize it needed a twist action to physically pop back up again and reset. Managed to cut the piece I needed while I was there and everything worked perfectly. :D

The key was tried many times but didn't work. It was tried one more time and worked. The key switch may be failing. Do we need a key switch? We have an e-stop button that can serve the same function.

I tried it at 9am this morning. Activated the panel, then turned the silver key all the way to the right/clockwise which turned on the laser. Usually the key gets left on, and only the panel is needed. I'll be around at 4, if you want to take a look and see if anything else is different from yesterday, maybe someone fixed it between us trying it.

Yup, I can give it a try. I should have also tried plugging something else into the laser outlet to see if it has power. I'll go this afternoon, probably around 4pm.

Can you try plugging the laser into a different outlet? Like where the vacuum is plugged in.

Just went in this morning around 7:30 am (Apr 10), and the control panel on the laser didn't come on. As far as I could tell, everything in the room was operating as normal, just the panel on the laser was dark.

Things I checked:

• Laser's key was rotated correctly (tried both ways many times)
• Laser's power cord was plugged in
• Breaker panel on the outside of the room was turned on, no breakers were tripped
• no breakers on the main panel by the garage door was tripped
• Tried unplugging and reconnecting the laser's power cord

Besides that everything else seemed to work:

• Panel on the outside of the laser room seemed to function normally
• Laser's computer was on
• Laser's air functioned normally

I tried checking the forums for any info, but didn't see any notes. Maybe there's a switch somewhere I don't know about, but I figured I'd make a post here to log the situation. Hopefully it's something simple!
