ASA Filament
Author Last Post

The filament on the wide spool has been transferred to a narrower one, and the wide spool has been discarded.

I have built a filament re-spooler that works pretty good and can even take the big 5kg spools. I am currently adapting a motor to it so a drill to drive it wont be required.

A note to all 3D enthusiasts: Please do not discard any empty spools! Keep them so we can transfer more of the 5KG ASA to smaller spools.

Bad news on the black spool of white ASA. The spool does fit in the printer however when you snap the cover on, the spool is a bit too wide so the cover actually pinches and won't allow the spool to move freely so it can't print.

You'll probably just need to find normal 1lb rolls unfortunately, but I guess it means the winder won't need any adjustments to wind onto the 2lb roll so there's that!

Nice re-spooler, Nicholas. I'll see about building one!

Thanks Layton. I'll be there.

I have 1kg roll that's empty and I'll be at the makerspace tomorrow around 430 if that works

I would like to use some of the ASA filament that is on the big rolls upstairs. Do we or does anyone have a spooler to wind some filament onto a smaller roll that will fit on the QIDI printers?
