3D Printing

Printer 4
Author Last Post

Printer 4 has a problem where you cannot pause the printer to change the filament. The machine head crashes at the back and looses steps. When the printer restarts the print resumes offset. This isn't a problem with the file.

I suspect the slightly shorter Bowden tube may be the issue. Replacing that would be the best first step.

I emailed tech support and got this:

"It usually happens when the print head is not moving smoothly on the X-axis rod, the X-axis rod might need to get lubricating.

In that case, please power off the printer, and use hand to move the print head all the way from left to right and see if you feel resistance when you move it.

If you feel the print head is hard to move on the X-axis rod, please follow the video below to fully lubricate the X-axis rod and the problem will be resolved.

Here is the video for lubricate the X-axis rod.

I've installed a new cable on printer 3. I labeled it 2025 to avoid confusion.

I think it needs a usb cable installed. Grant bought some, I can install it sometime soon. Grant have you changed any yet. Just want to make sure I am not duplicating effort.

I just walked into the maker space and found this im not sure what to do about since half of is still attached
