Table Saw Riving Knife
Author Last Post

We now have the SawStop 2.3mm riving knife installed on our table saw. It should be able to handle regular blades and those thinner Diablo blades, but might be a little tight if someone ever uses a 3/32" Thin Kerf blade. The alignment seems pretty decent for now, I used the kerf of a half-cut board to align the knife with the blade and rip fence. Made a few test cuts, and it doesn't seem to be blocking or binding the wood on either side. If anyone encounters an issue where it seems like the knife is off-axis with the blade, let me know and it can be adjusted.

Saw blades should be able to be installed and removed without touching the knife, but if you need to remove/install it and are not sure how, please refer to the new Magnetic Quick Start binder stored on the front wall of the saw. The locking lever needs to be fully secured down, a loose knife could slip and apply unexpected pressure to a board, or knock into the blade and trigger the brake.
