Laser computer acting fishy
Author Last Post

Yesterday Ron_Ron spent a lot of time recovering the member's file from the old laser computer and we put it on the new computer, so in theory your files are recovered

I tried something yesterday and it was mirrored so didn’t work well as there was words. I just figured the laser was smarter than me and I messed up 🤷‍♂️

I have also noticed that if you are using RDWorks the start point is mirrored (if I set the start point for top right the laser starts top left)

I've made several attempts to get the old laser computer to boot. It won't cooperate. I've run out of time so I will ask for help with a few things.

The old laser computer needs its data recovered. The members folder from the desktop and whatever is in the documents folder needs to be copied to the new computer.

I'm not sure if there was an email address associated with the windows login for the old computer. The new computer doesn't have an email associated with it. Windows is not logged in. If you use an email to login that is associated with another computer, the documents folder from that computer will be copied to this one. Thanks, One Drive.

Not yet. It has internet. To get things from your members folder you would need to use one of the other computers in the space. Just copy what you need to a thumb drive and "sneakernet" it over to the computer.

Woot woot, is it on the network?

I have replaced the laser computer. It has Lightburn and RD Works installed. No network access.

I think windows needs to be rebooted from a CD or flash drive.

I'm currently at 15 mins in booting up :(

I've tried restarting and going into the bios mode but nothing seemed to help get past the loading circle screen.

I wonder if something went wrong in an update?

We're operating at a very old BIOS version.

It's been taking 5 to 10 min to boot. I would like to replace the computer but I don't know how to set up the network drives. Anybody want to help set it up?

I got into the fab shop this morning and the computer wasn't acting quite right. I've tried restarting it a few times but it's taking quite a while to fully reboot. I get stuck at the loading wheel.

Is this normal? How long do I need to wait before it's fully going?

Thanks.
