Bags
Beth Scott

I've made a bunch of bags in the last year that I wanted to share. All were from free patterns or tutorials.

I was given two garbage bags full of fabric last winter. It was a lot of scrappy bits, not so much yardage. Not suitable for quilting or making clothes- so, bags! I adapted this tutorial:

A few changes were needed, like adding a bigger seam allowance and finishing the fabric edges.

I was handed this striped navy blue fabric with little idea of what to do with it- so, a bag! The reds/pinks/oranges are Kaffe Fassett quilting cotton scraps. I used this tutorial:

The English paper piecing heart was my own addition. The paper hexagons were cut out on the laser cutter.

I needed a bag to put embroidery thread in, so I used a free pattern by Tilda:

Scroll through the page and look for 'toiletry bags'. It comes in 3 sizes, I made the medium and large ones. A few parts are tricky, like the binding on the inside. Probably best for those with a bit of sewing experience.
