Added the Toggle Switch and Power port holes, also added channel on the back for LEDS and Slot to run wires to LEDs....think this design is ready to try lazing from 3MM board...have yet to use the laser...will reward whoever can help me with this...

dig the slices for laser cutting idea...
found a python script to export flat svg images of the design sliced at 3mm ...seems to work, 2D slices to laze...just need to add some holes to put dowels through to hold the pieces in place (was actually thinking to use round wooden tooth picks for this...or possibly machine screws for the outside ones...

here is the link to the github hosting that handy little python script for future reference:

visualising robots creating technicolor triangles...the path workbench in freeCAD is quite intuitive and seems to work pretty well...
saw some half inch thick 'Hackable' material in the Hall by the Woodshop...was thinking of maybe cutting it and gluing it together to make it the full 25CM that i need...

Oh cool!
One thing you could do is laser cut it out of 3mm plywood to make each side of the triangle and laminate pieces together, only carving out the pockets, and just gluing the inner and outer "rim" on. That would save a lot of machining time.

CNC is really good for some tasks, other tasks laser cut laminated pieces are better. A combination of the two would be pretty sweet though!

just started playing around with generating tool paths in freecad, just need the dimensions of available end mills, then should be able to get some G-Code created...

so i have been working on this design for a rechargeable battery powered WiFi enabled multi-coloured triangle light and would like to have it cut out using a CNC machine...looked on the calendar and i do not see any training scheduled for the CNC...wondering if there is anyone out there who would be willing to train me on this so i can cut this and other things out? i will treat you to food or drinks or something for the service...
currently have an open schedule and would like to get started on this ASAP, so please let me know if you can help with this.
thanks
