Following up on that, if this coffee maker gives out again or we get fed up with the leaks, one of the Tim Hortons branded ones came up very clean second hand. Shoulder tap me and I'll swap the coffee makers out.

It makes lukewarm coffee anyway. Time for an upgrade

I have one like this at home. Makes a pot in 3 min. Totally recommend getting one. $200.

The day of Judgement finally came.

The 250v 10A 125c thermal safety fuse in the Bunn coffee maker went open. The tank wasn't empty so I'm not really sure why it went but hurrah, cold coffee!

We have two options here. We can replace the safety fuse, HOWEVER, the top water tray needs to be badly repaired while it's open. The plastic around the grommet into the tank (this gets really hot and regular gaskets can't seal this) is cracked and brittle from years of constant heat and the machine leaks really badly.
The other option is replace the coffee maker completely. Either way, no quick caffeine until someone finds another good coffee maker.
