Good morning:

As part of my new role with Kamloops & District Elizabeth Fry Society, I’m working on a project to assist families in Second Stage Housing gain employment opportunities where they can upskill and learn how to become financially independent through our Social Enterprise pilot program.

In short, the idea is to find willing pilot participants from our community who might be willing to donate items for the first iteration of a Mommy and Me gift box that survivors of domestic abuse would collect, organize, market and sell over Christmas of 2020. From there, we would hope pilot participants are able to provide us with some information about the cost, delivery timelines and potentially wholesale pricing for 3 of 4 gift boxes that we would try to pre-sell and order from your business based upon interest in this initiative.

I thought the Kamloops Makerspace might be a good partner for artists who might be willing to carve baby milestone blocks or textile artists who could sew, quilt, knit or crochet baby blankets or toys. Additionally, if there’s some interest in using a 3D printer to create any of these products, it could be a good fit too.

Attached, please see our detailed outline and let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I’m happy to set up some time to chat if you’re interested in being involved in the pilot.

Thank you,
