If you are logged in you may have noticed the E-Learning button on your menu bar. This is our new platform for Makerspace training. Going forward there will be various courses added on how to use the Makerspace and the tools and equipment in it. These courses are free, however some equipment may require a qualified mentor to check you out before you may use the equipment. They may charge $5-10 for their time. Not only are they certifying your safe use of the tools, but also there to answer any additional questions you may have.

The first course live now is Makerspace 101. This outlines the basic use of Kamloops Makerspace and your responsibilities at the space. This course is required for all members regardless of their time at Kamloops Makerspace. It may be updated annually as the board sees fit due to changes around the space. This course is free and requires no additional checkout.

The next course to be released is the Laser 101. This will be required to run the laser cutter. Users who have taken an in person Laser 101 in the past do not require an in person check out, however must complete the online course and email when (approximately) they took the course and who taught it. New users will be presented a list of qualified mentors upon completion to check them out on the use of the laser cutter.

We hope to have current membership certfied under there new courses withing the next three months. Future courses will be added as they are developed and will include:

VersaCamm 101

Saw Stop 101

CNC Router 101
