Yes, upload photos to Facebook (or Sendible so you can also use Twitter and Instagram) and add a link to the forum thread. These are scaled down pics but I can send the originals in via email. Which email should I send to?

At one point I'd suggested a media@kamloopsmakerspace.com, Nicholas created that so I'll send it there and CC you.

Hi! I'd love to be figure out how to adequately share these forum posts on the FB...
Have you done this before?

I needed a stand for my laptop for the home office so that I could slide my keyboards underneath it when I need paper in front of me.

Where a more sensible person would have gone to the store and just bought one, I decided to design and print my own for reasons that I still don't understand.

Anyway I spent a half day in Fusion 360 designing it up and then a couple more hours tweaking the fit. The design is largely overkill with some questionable brace design.

It has achieved its function of elevating my laptop off the table without succumbing to the forces of gravity.

  • I printed out some orange pads in TPE (a rubbery material) which greatly increases the stiction to the desk.
  • The individual pieces all bolt together, I printed little internal hex slots to jam nuts into.
  • The main support arms were too large to fit on the print bed so I split them into a couple pieces with a stepped lap joint to increase the surface area that I then glued.
